Living, Working

January 23, 2016

This week is craziness: 3 events in 5 days and no weekend, but I’m surviving. Add being just a little pissed off that I find myself in the midst of this work turmoil, running these events again, and not happily pregnant as I should’ve been… Just, hphrm.

This picture of Carter at the beach is from the morning before I miscarried. How apropos for the feelings above. I know life goes its own way, that we are at the whims of each day… it’s all a lot to take in if you give yourself time to think about it.

With that major snowstorm whipping across the country, some rain in LA and lots of sticky energy with the full moon and Mercury Retrograde, I hope you’re feeling safe and warm where you’re are. If things are crappy, maybe something below will help. xo

Create some cheer by following Sherry’s ideas for thank you notes.

Sitting all day? Try these stretches, your glutes will thank you. h/t Abby Kerr.

I will keep posting about Just Between You & Me until you all are dedicated listeners. Jen and Tim’s conversations are funny, intimate and help get me through.

“These days, I’m thinking about just the first two words: better late.” Some beautiful writing from Rita.

Including Lindsey’s Things I Love Lately so I remember to go back for her book recommendations (she has never let me down in the realm of books).

And two funny things… a short post I made up on FB about the ridiculous things my assistant and I are dealing with these days:

Me: “Why Are You In My Spam?” ~ a book by Z and me about how to survive executing 3 major events in 4 days. Includes such chapters as “How To Arrange VIP Seating for an Open Seating Event”, “The Ideal Ratio of Chocolate to 2000s Club Music”, “Post-Dirty Christina Aguilera”, “What We Mean By ‘Sold Out'” and other tidbits of wisdom from two people in-the-know.

Z: And let’s not forget “I Read A Meme on the Internet: Because That’s Where You Read Them.”

Me: Oh and also, “Is My Band Playing Your Event, Or Else Why Did I Register?”, “People Don’t Eat At These Things” and “Not Everyone Will Show Up”

And finally, this hilarious video of a dog getting his head scratched:
